Post-swim update:

We did it! For your entertainment, here's the timeline for the Hare and Tortoise Swim...

10:20 Wake up and realise the plan to start swimming at 10am and finish before lunch isn't going to happen - blame it on the 4 bottles of wine the night before

11:40 Hit the water!

11:47 Hare - 20 lengths; Tortoise - 6 lengths
* Hare thinks this should be breeze
* Tortoise wonders what she has got herself into, seems harder going than before

12:20 Hare - 100 lengths; Tortoise - 28 lengths
* Tortoise enters into uncharted territory - has never done more than 20 lengths before!!

12:55 Hare - 200 lengths; Tortoise - 56 lengths
* Tortoise starts to feel the pain but meets a friend and has a good gossip
* Hare finishes 100 lengths non-stop but wonders if maybe he should have stuck to his original promise to do 212 lengths

13:15 Hare - 236 lengths; Tortoise - still on 56 lengths
* Hare is heading for victory for the first time today
* Friend leaves, Tortoise starts swimming again but gets toe cramp immediately

13:45 Hare - 300 lengths; Tortoise - 78 lengths
* Tortoise takes advantage of Hare's toilet break to make up some lost ground

13:50 Hare - 300 lengths; Tortoise - 83 lengths
* Hare returns to the water and starts to really feel the pain.
