Post-swim update:

The swim took place at the end of the afternoon symposium session and before the reception/banquet, the only time we had available during a busy professional meeting.
Although only 6 hardy souls swam, it worked out well as we persuaded many of the non-swimmers to sponsor us instead! We swam into the dark (we were in a lagoon, not the hotel pool) and then jumped into the hot tub to warm up (yes it does get a little nippy this time of the year, even in Florida!).    more >>
