What is a Long-Lasting Insecticidal Net (LLIN)?

An LLIN is a mosquito net impregnated with insecticide.

The insecticide is cleverly bound within the fibres that make up the netting and is 'slow released' over a 4-5 year period. Hence 'long lasting'.

The Divine Foundation Primary School is loacted in the Mutundwe area, south west of Kampala. More and more of the 400 students are falling sick with malaria. In the patient record book at the Mutundwe Health Centre there are 65 new cases of malaria per day.
