My family has delayed tithing 10% to 'the least of these' for a few months due to my situation of having no income, as I've been essentially volunteering at our new nonprofit startup, StakeOut.AI. Honestly, making this decision has been a struggle for many months. However, one of my mentors, a Christian youth worker who has lived solely on donations for the past 20 years, has greatly influenced me with his walk of faith. There are days when his family doesn't have enough food. In those moments, after they pray, someone, often from their church, miraculously brings food for their family of five. Their experience has reshaped my thinking. Even in my family's current situation, I believe that tithing 10% is a way to learn to trust and rely on Jesus. Thus, on Black Friday, bombarded by messages to spend on ourselves, we decided to give to others instead. It's time to stop procrastinating on our giving out of fear that we won't have enough. It's in our discomfort that God finds the room
