Rotarians In Australia
Rotarians Against Malaria (RAM) in Australia has been distributing mosquito nets
in the Pacific region for some time now through our Adopt-A-Village programme.
We are aware therefore of the suffering malaria causes, particularly to the most
vulnerable in society, young children.
We have seen the dramatic effect mosquito nets can have on reducing incidents of
malaria. In some parts of Papua New Guinea the reduction is up to 80%.
Many more nets are needed and our Adopt-A-Village programme is expanding as a result.
We have 23 Districts across Australia. We will be inviting them and their clubs
to swim. An average of 200 swimming per District would achieve 5,000 swimming. That
should be do-able!
Rotarians in Australia are delighted to be taking part in World Swim Against Malaria.
