"Accenture is delighted to be one of the early supporters of World Swim For Malaria. We aim to have at least 5,000 of our staff, family, friends and business associates swimming.

We anticipate Accenture people in some 50 countries around the world will wish to participate which would mirror Accenture's presence on every continent.

Each year across the firm more than thirty thousand days are given to volunteer work and over the years, many of our staff have taken a 6-12 month sabbatical to do volunteer work as part of our Corporate Citizenship programme. We have a strong collaboration with Voluntary Service Overseas (VSO), for example.

Some of our staff have already asked if their volunteer work could involve helping with the distribution of bednets in Africa.

So we hope not just to swim and raise money but where appropriate assist with bed net delivery thereby allowing Accenture people to be involved from start to finish in this important initiative."
