Malaria is endemic in Sierra Leone.

4,000 nets will be distributed in a series of villages in the Malen chiefdom in Pujehun district, in the east of the country. This is a rural area in dense tropical rainforest. The distribution will achieve blanket coverage of all sleeping spaces.

Survey status

Surveys take place 6, 18, 30 and 42 months post-distribution. A survey of 50 households provides sample information on what proportion of nets continue to be used, if they are used correctly and the state of the nets.
