The Africa Childrens Development Trust is a UK based non profit organisation dedicated to providing chiropractic care & protection from malaria to underprivileged children in Uganda. The Trust aims to provide 6 monthly chiropractic care to children under 16 years of age living in some of the poorest areas, villages & orphanages. The Trust will also strive to provide each child with a mosquito net to support the prevention of malaria which kills approx 800,000 children in Africa each year.

LLINs

What is a Long-Lasting Insecticidal Net (LLIN)?

An LLIN is a mosquito net impregnated with insecticide.

The insecticide is cleverly bound within the fibres that make up the netting and is 'slow released' over a 4-5 year period. Hence 'long lasting'.

The Kumali District is one of the poorest areas in Uganda, with approx 1500 people living there.

It is a high risk area because of the location & very poor condition within which the children live. There is no drainage & very poor sanitation. The area is prone to substantial flooding & malaria fatalities are high.
