Hey there all you skeeter fightin' friends out there! I have recently qualified for the 111th running of the fools, Boston Marathon and would like to use this opportunity to raise funds to help support the aid against malaria. I have also accepted an invitation to be a Peace Corps volunteer in Togo, West Africa starting in June. I would love to arrive knowing that part of the problem of poverty has been slowed by increased health.
Malaria kills 3,000 children each day and more than one million each year, the majority in sub-Saharan Africa. The majority of these deaths occur among children under five years of age and pregnant women in sub-Saharan Africa.
