International Pharmaceutical Students' Federation (IPSF) will be hosting a World Swim Against Malaria to raise funds for insecticidal nets, the most effective way of stopping people contracting malaria. Each bednet costs US$5. Each year, 1.5 million people die of malaria. 70% of deaths are children under 5. That's equivalent to one child dying of malaria every 30 seconds or 7 jumbo jets full of children disappearing due to malaria every day. more >>
