Bzzzzzzzzzzzzz. Hello! I'm a female Anopheles mosquito. Chances are you have had some type of run in with me before. I'm sanguinivorous. That means I like to drink your blood. Some people think that I give them malaria. That's not entirely true. I get a bad rap. You see, it's really some crazy parasite known as Plasmodium. Unfortunately, I act as a vector. When I bite in order to feed, this little parasite enters your body, and you might contract malaria. more >>
