As the wet season approaches, Peace Corps volunteers are currently trying to raise money to provide our villages with mosquito nets that will aid in preventing the transmission of malaria to our family and friends here. Every rainy season, malaria provides a serious threat to the health and livelyhood of the people in our villages and working to bring them bednets is a small step in the fight against malaria. Each bednet costs $2, which is often more than most people in my village can afford to pay. I am attempting to raise money for 200 nets which will cover my village and a smaller village close to me,so I need to raise approximately $400.
