Kids Aid Tanzania - Nets for Bugarika

Mwanza, Tanzania 

Bugarika is a squatter settlement located on high rocky outcrops which surround the town of Mwanza on the south east shore of Lake Victoria. Its estimated 12,000 inhabitants have drifted into the town from rural areas looking for work, mostly unsuccessfully. Undesrtanding of how mosquito bites cause malaria is low and, even with understanding, few households can afford bed nets. The local dispensary treats over 200 children under 5 years of age with malaria every month.
