Episcopal Relief and Development/NetsForLife sm
Episcopal Relief and Development (ERD) responds to human suffering around the world. We provide emergency assistance after disasters, rebuild communities, and help children and families climb out of poverty.
Malaria
Malaria is one of the deadliest, preventable diseases on the planet and a huge impediment to the economic progress of the people of Africa. ERD has significant involvement in the fight against malaria.
NetsForLife sm
ERD is an implementing partner for NetsForLife sm, a programme fighting malaria in Africa.
NetsForLife sm promotes an integrated prevention model that focuses on building community awareness about malaria, educating and training people to use effective preventive methods and accurate treatments for malaria, and advocating for better access to drug therapies that save lives.
The last mile…and Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E)
African communities affected by malaria are often hard to reach. Logisitics planning right down to 'the last mile' is very important to ensure the success of bednet distribution programmes. We place great emphasis on this.
Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) of our bednet distributions and other interventions is vital to fully assess the impact of our anti-malaria activities. The purpose is to increase net usage and instill a net culture.
NetsForLife sm currently operates in 16 countries although this is due to expand.
