LLINs

What is a Long-Lasting Insecticidal Net (LLIN)?

An LLIN is a mosquito net impregnated with insecticide.

The insecticide is cleverly bound within the fibres that make up the netting and is 'slow released' over a 4-5 year period. Hence 'long lasting'.

Pre-distribution information

Cameroon suffers badly from malaria. The area around Tiko in the South West province is no exception.

16,000 nets will be distributed in eight areas to under 5s and pregnant women, those most at risk from malaria.

The specific arease to receive nets are; Holforth, Kangue, Likomba, Missellele, Mondoni, Mudeka, Mutengene and Tiko Town.

The nets are being distributed by the amazing David Rovertson and Julia Samuel from Drive Against Malaria in partnership with PSI Cameroon and the Cameroon National Malaria Control Programme.
