Being an open water swimmer and originally from South Africa, where malaria is a huge health issue, there was no doubt that I was going to get involved.

Still to convince more swimmers, but I am sure some of my club friends and work colleagues will join in.

I will swim for an hour non-stop on Saturday 3 December 2005. The swim will be in the Challenge Stadium pool in Claremont in Perth.

I am aiming to swim 3.5km or 70 laps.
