A group of us from Ames, Iowa are planning to swim on February 25th to raise funds for the World Swim for Malaria. Why are we doing this?

Nearly 2 million people die of malaria each year; most of these deaths are children under 5 years of age.

Malaria is preventable.

The single most effective way of preventing malaria is to reduce one's exposure to mosquitos that carry the disease -- by having people in affected regions sleep under a mosquito net.    more >>
