Rotary Canada is embarking on a project to raise 100,000 long-lasting insecticidal nets that will protect 100,000 schoolchildren in Tanzania.
The nets will be given free-to-recipients at 150 boarding schools. Unlike in some western countries, children at these boarding schools in Tanzania are from some of the poorest families and would not otherwise sleep under a net and be protected at night from the bites of malaria-carrying mosquitoes.
