I'll be swimming at McMurdo Station in Antarctica, the only malaria-free continent!

I'm a student of Antarctic and Southern Ocean studies when I'm away from the "Ice", and I'm a flightline mechanic keeping the planes warm when I'm there.

I don't know if I can get a "polar plunge" organized (might be a bit of red tape there), but I can definitely envision 10 to 20 of us at McMurdo participating in "THE GREAT ANTARCTIC MAN-HAULED SWIM FOR MALARIA": a 100 meter race across the sastrugi of the Ross Ice Shelf. more >>
