My name is Yoana and I am taking up the "Live On Less" challenge to raise awareness of the link between poverty and malaria.

Considered as both a root cause and a consequence of the extreme poverty of the people living in sub-Saharan Africa, malaria has a devastating impact on the community. 60% of all malaria cases, and 80% of malaria deaths, occur in tropical Africa. Not only is the access to diagnosis and treatment limited (mainly due to bad infrastructure), but also resistant Plasmodium species have emerged.    more >>
