If memory serves me correctly, I think I was getting homesick about island life and whinging about London's lack of watersports when I got talked into this unique swimming opportunity of a December dip in an icy duck pond. It made sense at the time.

I've taken the training pretty seriously, a swim in the sea in Guernsey in New Year 1999 and a mangrove swamp in August 1995. Just need a few self defence moves for those aggressive ducks and I'm ready.    more >>
