Tiem's PhD defence

In my PhD work I showed that climate change can shift the distribution of malaria mosquitoes, so that new areas become at increased risk of malaria transmission.

Here comes the but: there are effective ways to prevent malaria, and of those, mosquito nets are probably the most important. So even if mosquitoes spread because of climate change, the burden of malaria can increase if people are protected by mosquito nets. more >>
