What is a Long-Lasting Insecticidal Net (LLIN)?

An LLIN is a mosquito net impregnated with insecticide.

The insecticide is cleverly bound within the fibres that make up the netting and is 'slow released' over a 4-5 year period. Hence 'long lasting'.

The nets will be distributed to 5 hospitals and health centres in and around Nyamuswa. The nets will be given to the hospitals so patients will be protected when they sleep at night.

The distribution will be carried out by a locally based health organisation, ZDIF, in partnership with AMREF.
