Kinshasa Province, 2020, Congo (Dem. Rep.)

Nets: 4,357,900 LLINs
When: Dec 20-Feb 21
Distributed by:  PNLP/SANRU

4.4 million nets will be distributed in 19 of the 35 health zones in Kinshasa province to achieve universal coverage of a population of 7.9 million people. This is part of a commitment made by AMF to fund 16.2 million nets for distribution in DRC in 2020.

The first phase of a distribution involves establishing how many nets are needed to achieve universal coverage i.e. all sleeping spaces covered in the distribution area. A Pre-Distribution Registration Survey (PDRS), involving visits by local health staff to all households in the distribution area, establishes how many nets are needed at the household-level.

  • Due to Covid-19, household registration and net distribution will take place simultaneously. It will begin as a pilot in 4 Health Zones in December 2020 and the remainder will take place in January/February 2021.
