As you may be aware, the European Parliament does not recommend swimming at British beaches unless you are a Scottish salmon or a iron-hulled boat.
Consequently I was taught to swim the old fashioned way - dressing in pyjamas and being pushed into a pool to retrieve a rubber brick. As a result my swimming technique has been charitably described as "having a bouyancy problem".
Despite these hardships (or perhaps because I held my breath too long fetching the bricks) I've decided to attempt to swim 1 million millimetres to support the world swim for malaria.    more >>
