Post-swim update:

On a warm and humid Saturday morning, a group of students, teachers, parents and friends gathered at our host school, DIA. The first swimmer was away by 8am ... everyone swam as far as they could, covering between 25m and 4km each ... our youngest swimmer was just 4 years old. We were delighted to see that we covered 50km by about 11 o'clock.

With the help of the 'Build Our Pool' snack bar team, who provided cold water and lots of cakes, we kept at it and covered well over TWICE our target distance of 40km!

BIG thanks to all the swimmers; to the 'volunteers' who kept a track of the distance, manned the registration desk, and gave 'gentle encouragement' to those in the water; to the snack bar team; and to the lifeguard and pool staff. more >>
